Forgive me, reader, for it has been what feels like 10 years since my last post.
I’m often asked about organic/naturals and my approach is a little inconsistent; I use naturals wherever possible but am still very much a fan of cosmeceuticals and chemical actives, too.
I don’t feel the need to sit firmly in one camp but of course if there’s a natural option that’s the best in its category, that’s a bonus.
I’ve put together a list of some of my favourite natural products right now. It’s in no way exhaustive and there’s many other natural products/brands I love that did not fit on my marble side table #bloggerlyf
Let’s begin.
Sodashi Cell Renewal Drops, $89.
Sodashi is a premium organic Australian brand and what founder Megan doesn’t know about essential oils isn’t worth knowing.
I’ve been a long time user of the body oil and the face polish and am quickly developing an obsession with the new Cell Renewal Drops, which are said to repair the skin from within.
The formula is pretty much pure essential oils, meaning if you applied it directly to your face it would burn. Instead these drops are used sparingly (only four is needed) is a bowl or basin of warm water.
To use: soak a face washer in the water infused with the drops, then use as a compress on your face. The result is skin which is instantly softer and brighter. I was honestly surprised that a few drops in water could make such an instant difference. Follow with your regular skincare.
RMS Naturals Magic Luminizer, $55.
Can a highlighter be sexy? I reckon it can. Take one look at my used-and-abused pot and it’s obvious how much I love this product.
The balm-like formula (made with coconut oil) is super juicy and hydrating, making cheekbones glow like you’ve been doing yoga your whole life (when really you’re up til 2am bingeing on endless episodes of Shameless).
I have been trialling a fair few natural household cleaners over the past year or so with varying degrees of success.
I only started using Koala Eco a few weeks ago and so far I’m impressed. The Kitchen Cleaner is my fave (I have been using it all over the house). I’m yet to try the fruit and veggie wash but have heard it’s amazing.
Aromantik Tropique Narcotique, $85.
Again, I was searching for a good natural fragrance for literally years.
I have a huge collection of traditional perfumes which I adore (and will continue to wear on special occasions) but I really wanted to find a natural option to be my daily scent. Synthetic fragrances have been linked to a whole host of hormonal issues and I’ve got enough challenges in that area so wanted to minimise my risk.
Three or four months ago I came across Aromantik Natural Perfumes. I fell in love with a couple of the scents, Tropique Narcotique most so. It’s now my daily fragrance and I get so, so many comments on it.
I bloody love Weleda. Most of the women in my friendship group use and love Skin Food. It’s an amazing product because it’s so versatile. I use it on my face as a nourishing overnight mask, on sunburn, on dry elbows and feet. Lots of my mum friends use it on their babies. I also use Weleda body oil in my nightly bath. Weleda for president!
Herbivore Blue Tansy mask, $68.
This mask is a game changer. I use it whenever my skin feels gross and congested, which is at least once every 28 days. I also use it after a day at the beach if I have been wearing lots of layers of SPF.
It’s great for oily or spot-prone skin and when used first, followed by a hydrating mask, it’s legit like a facial at home.
My natural deo journey was a stinky one. Most of them don’t work; I found that out in real time.
When I found Schmidt’s I was stoked because it was relatively affordable (another good one I found was $35+) and it’s available in a stick (I’m not down with the ones you rub in with your fingers).
Pictured is the Bergamont and Lime because that’s the ‘flavour’ I am trying right now but so far my fave is the charcoal one.
